Waste Management and Disposal

MARPOL

To regulate, prevent and collect ships discharging waste into the marine environment, we have provided end-to-end waste management and disposal service. Keeping the MARPOL (International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships) regulatory compliance in check, we signed up the contract with the Port of Sohar in the Sultanate of Oman to set up the first integrated PWRF in Sohar.

This project provides waste disposal service from the ships, fully in line with Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC). Our integrated waste treatment plant handles more than 50,000 cum of ship waste every year. We provide collective service to the ships stopping at this port and on-shore facility to treat the wastewater by using a combination of physiochemical and biological treatment technologies and recovering oils from wastewater. Moreover, we further discharge the treated water back into the sea.
